A mutual support platform for ethnic minority women in Hong Kong

Translate for Her started in 2014 with the mission to break language barriers and provide access to community information for ethnic minority women in Hong Kong. Over the years, we are dedicated to the work of information empowerment through the use of WhatsApp. Our translation platform on WhatsApp has gradually evolved into an information sharing and mutual support community where ethnic minority women and volunteers actively participate.

We have witnessed how powerful and resourceful the ethnic minority community can be as they provide bottom-up mutual support for one another. ​Here at Translate for Her, we see the value in everyone. We cultivate and encourage self-initiated mutual help practices among ethnic minority women. It is in these self-initiated efforts that we see true empowerment and a step toward gender equality.
