Public Education & Cultural Activities
TheM provides translation service through WhatsApp groups, where ethnic minority women can send out their translation request and volunteers (mainly ethnic Chinese) whoever online and available will make responses. Besides, over the years, our groups evolved into an information sharing and mutual support community where ethnic minority women can share and receive relevant & important pieces of information, seek advices, and have discussions.

Today, our support network has grown to serve roughly 150 to 200 users, paired with a nearly equal number of dedicated volunteers, creating a unique 1-on-1 care ratio across both Chinese and ethnically diverse communities.
Many of our users are women from South Asian backgrounds, predominantly from Pakistan, alongside mothers from Nepal and India.
Through dedicated WhatsApp groups, users can simply snap and share photos of school handbooks, official notices, or building announcements. Our volunteers swiftly translate these documents into English, and whenever further clarity is needed, we provide additional translation in Urdu.
Beyond written translation between Chinese and English, our volunteers assist with the subtle, essential details of daily life conducted in Cantonese. We provide Cantonese Jyutping (phonetics) and instant voice notes to help users navigate everyday scenarios.
For instance, if a mother needs to tell a taxi driver her destination,
like "Caritas Medical Centre".
Our volunteers record voice guides teaching her the exact Cantonese pronunciation :
明(Ming4)愛(Oi3)醫(Ji1)院(Jyun2).
Similarly, if someone is unwell and visiting a doctor, we immediately guide her on how to express symptoms like "lower back pain" in Cantonese: 腰 (Jiu1) 痛 (Tung3).
Through these immediate, voice-guided micro-interactions, we help bridging language gaps and empowering non-Chinese women to navigate daily life with dignity and confidence.
